Pay attention FiOS TV customers. Verizon has just released a Mobile Remote Widget that makes it possible to control your television directly from a Motorola Droid. The new app is designed to replicate the FiOS remote and will work from anywhere in the home through your Wi-Fi network. The same HD set-top box controls like pause, rewind, and DVR settings found on a remote are also be available on the Droid.
The My Remote feature will allow users to search for content using the Droid’s physical QWERTY keyboard and manage the Facebook/Twitter widgets. My Photos will beam photos stored on their phone onto the television screen, making it easier to share pictures and run slideshows of mobile snapshots or other images stored on the phone.
